Sample scrumptious Porto on a plate on this foodie's bike tour of the city, complete with a wonderful wine tasting! On this guided day tour you'll ride along the Douro River, pass through Avenida dos Aliados, Sao Bento Railway Station, Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique, Vila Nova de Gaia, Praia do Molhe, Matosinhos, Parque da Cidade do Porto, and, finally, the Igreja de Sao Martinho de Cedofeita. All along the route, you'll be rewarded with wine tastings, appetizers, and a tantalizing traditional lunch.
Riding first along the Douro River, admire the verdant terraced slopes dotted with vibrant vineyards - this region is globally renowned for its wine production, and you'll soon be able to sample some of its finest yourself! Having cycled through the city, passing along the resplendent Avenida dos Aliodos, through the Sao Bento Railway Station, and through the joyful Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique, you'll arrive at Vila Nova de Gaia. Here, on the river's beautiful banks, you'll have the opportunity to venture into the wine cellars that produce Porto's most famous wines. Appetizers will be on-hand, consisting of a number of delicious traditional delicacies, whilst the view of Ribeira simultaneously delights the eyes.
Your guided bicycle tour continues, riding on towards Praia do Molhe, a picturesque Porto beach, and the Castle of the Cheese! Bask in the rejuvenating ocean breeze and drink in incredible views of the Atlantic glittering under the rays of the Portuguese sun. A sensational authentic lunch awaits you on the next leg of your tour, in the traditional fish district of Matosinhos. There's plenty of time for your scrumptious refreshments to settle in the idyllic Parque da Cidade do Porto, where you can kick back beside the beautiful lakes and observe the local wildlife at play. It's just a stone's throw from the beach, so feel free to venture back onto the warm Portuguese sands.
Your bike tour reaches a flamboyant finale at the Igreja de Sao Martinho de Cedofeita, Porto's oldest church. This wonderful testament to Porto's religious culture adds a valuable spot of sightseeing to a leisurely bicycle tour that satisfies the eyes and the stomach!
