Take a mesmerizing bike tour around Munich and discover the elegant plazas, rolling riverbanks, and unique Bavarian culture that make this one of Germany's most popular cities. Your guided tour will stop at the elegant public squares of Marienplatz, Königsplatz, and Odeonsplatz, as well as the Englischer Garten and the Chinese Tower beer garden. After this, you'll dismount your bicycle and embark on a beer and food tour to sample Munich's famous beer and Bavarian gastronomy for yourself.

Begin your bike tour with a stop at the central square of Marienplatz, which has formed the center of the city's public life since its construction in 1158. The life-size figures on the Glockenspiel clock enact scenes from Munich's history twice daily, while the annual Christmas market fills the square every December.

Cycling on, you'll reach the second square on this day tour - Königsplatz. Situated in the heart of Munich's refined museum quarter, this square houses the stately buildings of the Art Museum and the Archaeological Museum, as well as the Propylaea, Munich's city gate. Modeled after the Acropolis in Athens, your guide will explain how Bavaria's royalty built this space to reflect their ideals of power and public life.

Pedal onwards to the Odeonsplatz, a 19th century square that was the site of the fatal gun battle that ended the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. Your guide will take this opportunity to explain Munich's pivotal role in the rise of the Nazi regime in Germany, and how this legacy is reflected upon today.

Turn your handlebars towards the Englischer Garten, one of the world's largest urban parks. Ride along leafy avenues, past vast stretches of lawns and flower beds, and take in the park's many sightseeing spots that include a Japanese tea house, a circular temple, and a vast lake. Ride on to your final stop of the bike tour, the Chinese Tower, located inside the park, for a pint of Bavarian beer.

At the end of your guided tour, you'll park up your bike and enjoy three hours of free time in the city. Follow up on some of your guide's recommendations that you've gleaned throughout your ride, before convening again in the evening to begin the Bavarian beer and food tour.

Your guide will explain Munich's historic beer culture and how a younger generation of breweries are appealing to new audiences while keeping the historic legacy alive. You'll then take public transport to the Beer and Oktoberfest Museum before stopping at a traditional beer garden for a drink and snacks. You'll round off your gastronomic journey through Munich at Hofbräuhaus, a three-floor beer hall dating to the 16th century. Prost!
