Your day tour starts at Copenhagen City Hall, an awe-inspiring Art Nouveau masterpiece with an ornate exterior complete with a glimmering gilded statue of Absalon. The hall also houses Jens Olsen’s World Clock! Here, your guide will also tell you about the Tivoli Gardens, visible from the City Hall and the world’s third oldest working amusement park. Your bicycle tour continues in this grand theme to Christiansborg Palace, the seat of Danish Parliament. The Palace is the only building in the world to house all three branches of a country’s government - executive, legislative, and judicial. Ride on to the Royal Library, one of the largest libraries in the world, comprising the old red brick building of 1906 and the 1999 Black Diamond Building.

Onwards to the Old Stock Exchange, one of the oldest buildings in the city. Built in 1625, this phenomenal building features an iconic tower designed to look like four intertwined dragon tails. The copper roof you see today is comparatively recent - the original lead chosen by King Christian IV was removed to make cannonballs during the Swedish Occupation in 1658-9! Next on your bike tour is Nyhavn, the iconic rows of colorful buildings that line the canal. These charming buildings are predominantly townhouses and bars from the 17th and early 18th Centuries, and represent a quintessential Copenhagen backdrop.

Ride on to the Royal Danish Playhouse, which throws a resplendent reflection in the Frederiksstaden harborfront. Nearby, on the island of Holmen, you’ll find the Copenhagen Opera House, one of the most expensive venues of its kind ever built, at 2.5 billion DKK. Some of the materials used in this lavish building include Jura Gelb limestone, Sicilian Perlatino marble, maple wood, and gold leaf amounting to the equivalent of 1.5 kilos of gold!

Arriving at Amalienborg Palace, admire the official residence of the Danish Royal Family, comprising four palace facades in an octagonal courtyard wherein stands an enormous equestrian statue of King Frederick V, founder of Amalienborg. Your day tour moves on to the Marble Church, also known as Frederik’s Church. Likely inspired by the St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, this resplendent rococo building is truly beautiful to behold. You’ll pedal next to the Langelinie promenade and park up your bicycle next to the iconic Little Mermaid, a brilliant bronze statue perched on a rock designed by Edvard Eriksen and depicting a mermaid becoming human.

Your guided bike tour continues to Kastellet, one of the best-preserved fortresses in Northern Europe, comprising a pentagon-shaped citadel with bastions at each corner. You'll then cycle around the King’s Garden, one of the oldest parks in Copenhagen.
