The marble used for the palace was actually quarried from the nearby island of Braĉ, but the extravagant decorations were mostly imported, including Egyptian granite columns, and a number of 3500-year-old sphinxes from the site of the Egyptian Pharaoh Thutmose III! A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Diocletian’s Palace is an unmissable landmark, both in the sense that a trip to Croatia is incomplete without it, but also in the fact that it forms nearly half of Split!

Ride on to ‘Riva’, Split’s spectacular waterfront, boasting a large boardwalk (perfect for cycling), high quality eateries, and sublime seaside views.
