Daily program
Day 1: Arrival in Dubrovnik
Meet at Dubrovnik Airport for your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for exploring at your leisure - perhaps you'd like to get into the rhythm of the ride with a cycling day tour of the city? In the evening, share a welcome dinner with the group and receive an introduction to the tour.Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 2: Dubrovnik – Herceg Novi (through Bosnian territory) (40 miles/65 km)
After breakfast in the hotel, take a short transfer to the outside of town and begin your cycling tour. Ride towards the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and to the city of Trebinje. You'll cycle through the hilly but spectacularly scenic part of the Bosnia-Montenegro-Croatia Triangle towards Herceg Novi on the magical Montenegrin coast.Overnight in/near Herceg Novi.
Day 3: Montenegrin coast, Herceg Novi – Kotor (26 miles/42 km)
Today you'll cycle along the coastal area of Boka Bay (Montenegro fjord) to the town of Kotor. It's a mainly flat route following the road to the Bay of Kotor through magnificent medieval towns. After a short stop in captivating Kotor itself, continue on to the hotel.Overnight in Kotor.
Day 4: Montenegro – Croatia (34 miles/55 km)
After breakfast, enjoy a breathtaking bike ride along the bay and cross over the border into Croatia. Here, you'll ride through the remarkable Konavle countryside, a very scenic area between the glorious, towering mountains and the glittering Adriatic Sea. Arrive in Cavtat/Konavle this afternoon to enjoy an exploration of the medieval town on your own terms.Overnight in Cavtat/Konavle.
Day 5: Croatia – Bosnia-Herzegovina (25 miles/40 km)
After breakfast, begin the ride from the gorgeous coastal town of Cavtat into a hilly region of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Once over the border in Ivanica, you'll continue your ride along an old railroad track, entering the picturesque Popovo Polje Valley, graced by the River Trebisnjica. Once a warzone in the 1990s, this part of the route, whilst still bearing evidence of days of battle, is once again a beautiful landscape, offering interesting variety to the coastal scenery. You'll have free time to explore the small village of Zavala/Ravno in the afternoon.Overnight in Zavala/Ravno.
Day 6: Zavala – Ston (25 miles/40 km)
Today you'll cycle through the verdant valleys of Herzegovina towards the Croatian border, the Peljesac peninsula, and the historical region of Ston. This area is famous for a number of interesting reasons: Ston, a medieval walled town, boasts the longest city walls in Europe. It was the first town on the Peljesac peninsula to begin producing excellent red wines, and the town itself is surrounded by oyster bays and mussel farms. Today's ride is the shortest on the tour, with nice climbs and exciting downhills. After arriving in Ston, consider an oyster tasting or a sailing trip to an oyster farm.Overnight in Ston.
Day 7: Ston – Orebic (Korcula), plus shuttle to Dubrovnik (31 miles/50 km)
Cycling along the Peljesac peninsula is one of the most scenic bike rides in the Mediterranean. Bike along beautiful roads with spectacular views over the open sea, dotted with gorgeous islands, before following scenic roads through verdant vineyards and old villages tucked into hidden bays. The ride finishes in Kuna around lunchtime. During the afternoon, you'll board the minibus shuttle to Dubrovnik, where you'll arrive in the glowing evening hours.Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 8: Departure
Breakfast in the hotel and shuttle to Dubrovnik Airport.Don't want the adventure to end? Consider taking a cycling day tour in Dubrovnik or Trebinje.
Surface and terrain
You will cycle on paved roads on this tour. Some parts of the daily routes contain a little more traffic, especially around the Montenegro/Croatia border (approx. 5-10 km around the border and Herceg Novi) and on a small part (around 8 km) of the route around Cavtat (Day 5).
Most days you will have some rolling terrain, but with grades only up to around 10% incline.

Great Trip
Our group of 15 riders had a great trip. Some were on road bikes, some on e-bikes, and some on hybrid bikes. I would not recommend the hybrid bikes for this trip. The climbs were very challenging on the hybrids even for experienced bikers. The climbs were tough for those on the road bikes, and even those on e-bikes had to put forth considerable effort. But those on hybrids were really at a disadvantage.

An excellent way to experience the landscapes , culture , history and the people.
Our guide Alex was most vigilant for our safety, checking the bikes, quick repair of flat tires if necessary, conveying briefings with road conditions and expected grades. The trip was beyond my expectations : the beauty, the snacks and meals, comfortable accommodation.

Beautiful and very challenging!
Cycling near the Adriatic Sea was spectacular, probably the most beautiful cycling I have ever done. It was also the most challenging trip we have done. The countries of Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro are mountainous! This is a perfect trip for serious cyclists.

Fabulous biking adventure
Walled cities, mountain passes, incredible views of the bays and islands - I wished I had a GoPro camera on my helmet. The hotels were charming, the food local and hardy. Biking was exhilarating; challenging at times, but the van was always available for those who preferred to skip the hard climbs or busier roads. Most of our group road e-bikes and were happy with their choice. Best of all were our guides, Alex and Emir. They were knowledgeable and inspirational and took very good care of us.

Fantastic experience!
This trip was an amazing way to experience beautiful parts of Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro. Our guides and support crew, Mario and Emir, are professional, knowledgeable and caring. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and kept us safe along the way. The ride is challenging at times with many hills and traffic, but we also experienced quiet roads through lovely vineyards and coastal views. Each hotel was unique and charming—from beachfront resorts to boutique hotels within ancient walled villages. Lunches and group dinners were well planned and delicious with the opportunity to experience local cuisine. Croatian wines are exceptional! And the best part of all was meeting new friends to share our love of cycling and adventure. This trip is not to be missed!

Amazing 3 country bike tour
The routes were great and the scenery first class; a fabulous way to explore those areas that are not that touristy and interior roads with absolutely no cars though Montenegro is a different story; recommend e-bike to stop and enjoy your surroundings because some of the days were very challenging for regular bikes including for some fit bike riders, most specially in the hot sun; the company can do much better on lunch options which were absolutely not good for the rides; the hotels were very good, some of them real gems; felt very good exploring Bosnia and cute little villages close to Dubrovnik; Montenegro coast is paradise.

Fabulous trip cycling in Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro.
The cycling was harder than we thought and it was good that we did some training before hand. This made it more enjoyable. The group was large for one guide and mixed fitness levels with different bikes caused a big gap. Hotels were lovely and generally food good but not sure the type of food at lunch is really what you want in the baking hot sunshine cycling 60km. Gluten Free options
were poor and not explained to the guide. Guides both knowledgeable and the weather and views were superb. Loved being on a guided one and them taking the luggage. Really helped experience seeing all the different countries and a great way to do it. Would definitely like to do another one.- What was the date of your tour?

Balkans Coast & Mountains
BEAUTIFUL scenery along coasts & mountains. Some challenging climbs mixed with coastal flats. Comfortable accommodations with character. Lunches were delicious & introduced us to some local foods. Alex & Igor provided excellent leadership & support while keeping us laughing with their antics! Always felt safe so could relax & enjoy the views. Would suggest stocking small, medium & large helmets and adding bells on bikes to alert pedestrians.

Balkans Introduction
This trip was our introduction to supported touring. The cost was reasonable, hotels were charming, the guides were top notch. There were some areas that were not bike friendly---our guide did a remarkable job keeping us safe. The rented bicycles were high quality--no worries there. May/June, September/October are the times to go, summer is too hot.

Most epic trip!!
This vacation/bike tour was one for the books! We wouldn’t change a thing and would like to take the tour again. The 6 day bike ride was no easy feat but it was manageable (especially with 2 14-year old boys). Our bike guide, Igor was very knowledgeable of the history and sights/cities we visited. Mario was an amazing SAG driver and prepared quite a lovely daily lunch spread!! Loved all the rest stops and hotels we stayed at. Can’t wait to take another tour with BikeTours!!

If not on the bucket list - put it there
The tour was amazing, the diverseness of the route was a pleasure experience every day. Beautiful landscape, uphill’s and downhills, flat surface, cent of herbs, harvest time – a feast for all senses. Some of the routes were more difficult than other and to conquer it was a victory, after a hill is a downhill that makes it all worth it. Mario and Dinko are the perfect and flawless guides, always a pleasure to have them around with such a good presence and very well informed and willing to share their knowledge about thousands of questions they got from the group. I give this tour my best recommendation.

Breathtaking Scenery
The views on this trip are amazing! True, there are a few climbs, but the views and the downhills more than make up for them. Our guide Mario was attentive, capable, enjoyable, responsive. We enjoyed the fresh, seasonal, healthy meals, and the accommodations were first rate! The rental bikes were comfortable and well suited to the road conditions. It was fascinating to experience the different countries and cultures in such a compact space; so different from the U.S. The only improvement I would recommend would be for printed maps or cue sheets to follow, even though we had a guide. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone with an interest in beautiful scenery, complex history and cultures, and a fun bike tour!

Great Experience!
First I have to mention our great guide and support Mario and Darco. They helped make this such an incredible trip. They were accommodating, flexible, funny and full of history about the area. I know my daughter loved talking with them about their life growing up in Croatia and the incredible history of the area. We fell in love with Croatia and Bosnia Hertsagovina. I know I just spelled that incorrectly I apologize.
My husband and I used the electric bikes which had multiple settings so we had great workouts everyday while not holding back our daughter from getting a great workout on her regular bike up with the guide. Electric bikes are genius and really the way to go especially if the people you are traveling with may be in a little better shape. Their bikes were excellent.
I loved the lunch breaks on the side of the road each day and as soon as Darco realized the type of food we liked while exercising he added it the next day (oranges never tasted so good!) together with his own favorites it was perfect.
We again can not say enough about Mario. His sweet disposition and willingness to do whatever he could to make our trip memorable was greatly appreciated.
The mileage each day was not bad but the climbs gave us such a great

Tough riding but worth it!
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour of the Balkan triangle. There was some amazing scenery and our climbs were always rewarded with incredible ocean and valley views. Tomi was a great guide, and kept us moving along. You could tell he really appreciates the beauty of his country and is happy to show it off. We couldn't have had a better van driver than Darco, who was always ready and willing to help, close by enough to support us with water, food and the occasional lift. The roads are narrow in these countries, which is a bit nerve wracking at the beginning, until you realize that everyone is used to passing in close quarters and you just get used to the narrowness of the roads. Much of the trip is on paths or quiet roads though. We loved the food and the accommodations on this tour as well.
